This house dates from the mid- 14th century, the name coming from the cylindrical stone used to soften the earth that was mixed with straw used on roofs. All the original details of the house have been conserved, respecting in every possible way the architectural history of the building and the typical materials of the region used in the period. The house is located in Ribesaltes, small village in the municipal area of Ribes de Freser, which is located inside the conservation area of La Serra de Cavallera. From the house we have magnificent views of the Taga Mountain. The surroundings of the house have benches, sand pits for the children, a barbecue, a fountain and a car park (separated from the house). The house is also presided by a splendid walnut tree. This property can be rented together with another property for groups of up to 22 people.

On the ground floor there is a small breakfast room for groups of six or less. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, and stove. On the ground floor there is also a double bedroom and a bathroom. On the first floor there are two further bedrooms: one twin and the other double and a bathroom. The double bedroom has direct access to the garden. On the second floor there is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bathroom. On the third floor there are two bedrooms where sleep three. One has three single beds and has been prepared especially with children in mind, and the other has a double and a single bed. The house has an ideal capacity of 16 people with the possibility of adding cots. It has a larger separate room available for dining, parties and other activities, which also has a fully equipped kitchen with oven, dishwasher and fridge-freezer; and toilet where the washing machine is located. This room is also available when the two houses are rented together and therefore has the function of dining-room. In the same area you will also find the tea room, a living room with sofas, TV and fireplace and a large dining table fit for the maximum capacity of the house.
 

things to do

Horse riding is available 3 km. away from the house in the town of Pardines. There is also a public swimming pool in the same town. Ribes de Freser is the entrance to many Pyrenees valleys and it is the town from where you can take the train to the famous Nuria Valley. There is a great monastery in the town of Ripoll, a Romanesque church from the 12th century in the town of Beget and another monastery in the town of Camprodon. There are also many restaurants where you can taste the traditional Catalan dishes of the region.
