Property dated in the middle of S. XVIII, located within the walled enclosure of the Real Monastery of Santes Creus (S.XII-XIII). In fact we are speaking of the house of the Abbots and the building is touching to the monastery. We are in an accommodation full of history, where we can find and touch in its walls signs of the most important facts that they have affected to the monastery and the region.In the back of the property we can enjoy a wide and extensive garden (3000 m2) which was part of the abbey and which defines the wall of the monastery. In the area next to the house there is a barbecue area with table and chairs, next a tree area with a fountain, then the old orchards now converted into a recreation area and a fenced area with the former rehabilitated irrigation pond pool (6 x 4 m, 1 to 1.90 m depth). Santes Creus is a small town of 170 inhabitants and the historical enclosure is a very calm space were there are neither commerce nor  bars and the transit is limited to the few people who live in the square.

Distributed in three floors with 365m2 of total surface and with high ceilings. Ground floor, a spacious hall gives access to the staircase that connects to the upper floors, a multipurpose room with exit to the garden, a toilet and a small kitchen/living room with furnaces, refrigerator and dishwasher with exit to the barbecue, is the kitchen of the garden. First floor, we find a distributor, a bathroom with shower, a spacious living room with balcony on the plaza around which the whole plant is built, the dining room, fully equipped kitchen with 4 hob (gas) oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, a room with the original structure of separate living room and bedroom with double bed, a bedroom with two single beds and a room with a single bed. Second floor repeats the previous plant distribution, the distributor, a bathroom with shower, large living room and three bedrooms: 2 with two beds and bathroom in each room and a triple room.  

things to do

The house is next to one of the most important monasteries of the Cistercian Order in Catalonia. Is part of the path with the Cistercian monasteries of Poblet (34 km-1991 UNESCO World Heritage) and Vallbona de les Monges (48 km). The Monastery of Santes Creus is not inhabited by monks which allows to visit all the rooms (entry free on Tuesdays). In the months of July and August there are concerts in the monastery. We must not forget that we are very well communicated from important touristic spots: the northern beaches of Tarragona (Comarruga, Torredembarra, Altafulla,...), city of Valls (“castellers” and “calçots”), the closest wine regions are Penedès, Conca de Barberà and Tarragona. In less than 1 hour we find Port Aventura adventure park, Tarragona (Archaeological Ensemble of Tarraco UNESCO World Heritage -2001) and Barcelona.
